Can Ultra Short Throw Projector Be Mounted On Ceiling?
You can mount the UST projector on the ceiling with special mounting equipment. But UST projectors are not designed to be mounted, and if you do that, the image quality will be lost.
So, they are made to be placed on tv shelves or tables to project pictures from a short distance.
Also, if you still prefer ceiling mount the UST projectors, setting up and focusing an image will be harder on the screen.
Drawbacks Of Mounting UST Projectors
There are no advantages to mounting them on screen, but the drawbacks will make you think twice when mounting UST models.
Short Wires
As they are designed to place near the screen, the power cord will be much smaller than what you will get with standard throw models.
Low Audio
Almost all the UST comes with premium sound quality, but their speakers give excellent audio, but the sound level is low as they are mainly placed in small rooms.
In UST units, speakers are situated at the back, which will get trapped when mounted close to the wall.
No Mounting Option
These Ultra short projectors are not designed to be mounted on the ceiling because you cannot flip the image on the screen if the mounting process is done.
Heavy In Size
These short-throw units are heavy in size, and if you decide to mount it, a special mounting bracket is required to hold them on a wall.
Also, you will need a helping hand to mount it and focus the image on a flat surface.
Not Good For Eyes
Almost all the UST models have their lighting system as a laser, which makes them last longer hours than traditional projectors.
But when these models are mounted at a distance of a few feet away, chances are you will often look into the laser light making your eyes harmful.
