Setup Process
When I take the Epson out of the box and placed it on the table, it was super easy to handle as the weight of the product was below 7lbs.
Now the projector was placed at a distance of 10 feet away and the image I got was 105″ inches big on a specialized screen.
It was a wise decision to place the Epson home cinema 880 in my living room as in my house all the rooms are not big enough where we can place this model.
After turning the projector on and connecting the “Roku” at the back of the projector the 880 automatically adjusted the picture with the help of a built-in picture skew sensor.
With the help of the auto keystone feature, it automatically adjusts the video vertically and horizontally which works great when you are mounting the device on the ceiling.
Image Quality
This model comes with bulb power of 210 watts that produces the power of 3300 lumens.
For deeper black levels this device has a contrast dynamic ratio of 16,000:1 with a screen resolution ranging from 26″ – to 310″.
With a resolution of 1920 x 1080p and a 3LCD chip, the Epson 880 home cinema produces 100% RGB colors without compromising in brightness level.
The four-color adjustment mode allows you to select the setting according to the environment you are going to play on the screen.
We projected the image in both conditions nighttime and also in the daytime to know the actual video quality of this unit.
The Epson 880 was doing justice even in the daytime as the images can be easily seen on the screen without the need to put blinds on the windows.
If you want a brighter picture quality in place of 880 then you can have a side-by-side comparison on 1080 vs 880.
Speakers
In-home cinema there are internal speakers which will sound like an average speaker and you will surely gonna avoid them if you are looking for a true cinematic experience.
So, the speakers are accepted for doing business conferences but a big no if you are going to project it for watching movies or playing any firestick content.
Connectivity
Now in terms of connectivity options, there is a single HDMI port that allows you to connect one streaming device with a 2 USB ports.
There is also a 3.5mm audio jack which will help you to connect external speakers or you can also internal speakers if you are okay with that.
Design
The design was simple and Epson has used high-grade plastic and which can be mounted on a ceiling or on a flat surface.
On the top of this device, you will find manual buttons which allow you to control the projector when placed on the table.
But these buttons are of no use if the home cinema is mounted on the ceiling. For that, the remote is very handy and will be mainly used to power on/off the unit.
Remember the remote is not backlit so you might find it harder for you to control in a darker environment.

No, you cannot use this model for a gaming purposes due to its higher input lag. Also, there is no internet connectivity feature that allows you to play games in multiplayer mode.
