Image Quality
First, I will discuss the picture quality the home cinema 2200 was producing when we were testing it at our uncle’s house.
The images were crisp and clear, but the HDR and 4k resolution were missing in this model. 3d ready will play any 3d content on the screen with the help of various sources.
There are no 3d glasses provided, but you can still buy them from either the official Epson store or third-party sources like Amazon.
When testing this model, the Epson claims its Home cinema 2200 produces the light of “2700 lumens” on the screen.
But I feel it was around 1900 lumens when measured while running a sample video on a screen. (it’s normal for projectors to measure less than their actual claim).
Still, the images were brighter in a well-lit room where you cannot control the lighting in daytime conditions.
Also, with the LCD technology, you will see almost zero rainbow effect on the wall, which is always a problem for some people.
No doubt the impressive contrast ratio of 35,000:1 was giving darker, detailed, and deeper in black scenes.
Setup
The setup didn’t take too long, maybe 20-30 minutes, and the projector was ready to cast any movie on the screen. I put the HC 2200 on the shelf, not on the floor.
The instructions were pretty straightforward, and everything you needed came in the box (except 3d glasses). I would recommend having a friend help due to its 10lbs weight while doing the physical installation on the ceiling.
The remote was very handy during the whole setup process, and I placed the projector at a distance of 11 feet away to get a 110″ inches screen size.
If you are planning to set up in your bedroom or where the space is limited, then it will be hard for you to get the desired screen size, which is appropriate for getting a home theater experience.
Performance
First of all, the internal 10 watt speaker will produce an average sound which is a good option for those who don’t want to connect any external speakers to get a home theater experience.
But if you are looking for a genuine experience, then connecting with an external speaker is the ideal choice.
This device also comes with an Android operating system loaded with thousands of applications, so even you might not require an external streaming device to watch your favorite content.
Connectivity
In terms of connectivity, Epson has provided a minimum connection system which is a single HDMI port, USB-B port, and one 3.5 mm audio jack.
So, if you are planning to connect multiple connections with multiple features then I would highly recommend you to look at Optoma EH412ST.
